Set Up & Alignment
Whether you want your car set up for normal road driving or your car is only driven on track it is important to have it set up correctly. Modern sportscars especially those used extensively on track should have their alignment checked on a regular basis. Our own track fleet is checked and rectified every month and the race cars we prepare and support are done prior to every race meeting.
Everyone is familiar with why basic four wheel alignment is important from a road point of view;
- Reduced tyre Wear - Improper alignment is a major cause of premature tyre wear. Over the years, a properly aligned vehicle can add thousands of miles to tyre life.
- Better Fuel Mileage - Fuel mileage increases as rolling resistance decreases. Total alignment sets all four wheel parallel which, along with proper inflation, minimizes rolling resistance.
- Improved Handling - Does your car pull to one side? Does the steering wheel vibrate? Do you constantly have to move the steering wheel to keep your car travelling straight ahead? Many handling problems can be corrected by total alignment. With all the system components aligned properly, road shock is more efficiently absorbed for a smoother ride.
- Safer Driving - s suspension system inspection is part of our alignment procedure. This allows us to spot worn parts before they cause costly problems.
At track-club we take the set up of your vehicle to the next level, we ensure that your handling is optimised for the car, your driving style and the main use of the car. Our experienced technicians have the experience to taylor your suspension settings, where possible, to suit you. For example, there is clearly no point in setting up a track use only car to the manufacturers recommended road settings. Typically, this will leave you with insufficient negative camber, wearing the outside edges of your tyres excessively and compromising your enjoyment and lap times!
