The Toyota ZZ engine family is a straight 4 engine. The ZZ series uses a die-cast aluminum engine block with aluminum silicon cylinder liners, and aluminum DOHC  cylinder head.  The camshafts are chain driven.   The 2ZZ uses a different bore and stroke from the other 1.8l engine in the series which is the 1ZZ.  The 2ZZ is a “square” design optimized for high-RPM power and was chosen by Lotus in 2004 to appear in the new Series 2 Lotus Exige.  The engine subsequently then appeared int he Lotus Elise 111R and Elise R and was then supercharged for use in the Elise, Exige and Lotus 2-Eleven.  

This 2ZZ is a specialist track-group product.  We have built around 100 of these engines and supplied them to many of the leading teams in Lotus Cup UK, Lotus Cup Europe and many track day and race customers throughout Europe.  Our 2ZZ engines have won national championships and have dozens of race wins and podiums.

We can offer full or part built 2ZZ engines, a range of components or provide you with a bespoke engine and electronics package.  In conjunction with an HKS Supercharger we can build a 2ZZ to develop up to a genuine 350bhp at the flywheel.

Our in house engine dyno is configured for the 2ZZ and engines can be bench run in and bench tested and calibrated to allow you to fit and race immediately.  We can also offer a full remove, rebuild and install service.
